Second Editing Post!

 Second Editing Post

Hey fellow bloggers, and welcome back to my blog. Thanks for reading and I hope you're all having a great day. Today, I'll be going further into how we continued editing our short film and how the new scenes played into that. Also, I'll be going into the specifics of our transitions. I'll also be talking about our music choice since that was one of the last aspects of our editing.

This is my phone screen when adding transitions in the app CapCut.

First, I'll be talking about how long we spent editing. Fortunately, digital apps and smartphones have made the editing process much easier and faster. We edited for a whole day after our first filming day, making sure it wasn't too long and trying to find music that fit the video. After our second filming day, we got a hang of it and only spent a few hours editing and finding the music. Both days, the only editors involved were me and my groupmate, Luis.

This video shows me selecting an instrumental song to later layer over our video.

Now, I want to talk about our transitions. Without a doubt, this is where most of our editing time went. The process can be seen in the first picture in this post, but it's sometimes much more complex. It's hard to pick a transition that flows well with the 2 clips it links together. Sometimes a fade to black or a blur works, and sometimes no transition at all keeps the momentum. These jump-cuts in the training montage are easily my favorite part of the editing process.
