Classmate Critique
For my classmate critique, I chose my classmates Luis and Lazaro.
For my first classmate, Luis, I especially enjoyed his whip pan on his first shot. It shows his protagonist and then whip-pans to show the sky, not only providing an establishing shot, but also making the shot interesting and attention-grabbing. I also enjoyed the last shot as it helped show the protagonist's emotions as she reads her phone.
For my second classmate, Lazaro, I enjoyed his fade transition as he is looking down on something rather than looking up, which shows power. I also loved the smash cut as it goes from an extreme close-up to a quick smash cut as it shows not only urgency, but also overwhelming violence in this case.
