Updated Story Board

 Jump Ball!

Hey fellow bloggers, and welcome back to my blog. Today I'll be going over my updated story board and how it differs from my original one. Specifically, I'll be going over the changes we made to our film opener, Jump Ball, why they were made.

In the scene where our character gets ready in the morning and brushes his teeth, we changed the shot to an over the shoulder shot. Originally, it was a fixed shot that was supposed to fade to black once our character steps out of frame. This was done in order to not disrupt the flow of the scene, and make it more of a "day in the life" vibe.

The montage scene remained as well, but it was also changed quite a bit. We replaced the push-ups with barbell curls, and moved them for after the jump roping since in our eyes we see it as a bit more difficult. A big difference is that we added music in order to capture the energy of the short film. Lastly, we switched out the fades to black for quick jump cuts that preserved the flow and energy of the short film.

That's where the similarities end, however. The rest of our short film wasn't included in the original storyboard. It was added in order to bridge the training montage to the scene at the basketball court. Also, without the scene of our main character hopping into the van and driving off, we wouldn't have had a good opportunity to include our title.
